Ethics & fair recruitment
Employer pays, without exception. And six further commitments you can measure us by.
International recruitment has a dark side: placement fees that put families into debt. Promises nobody can keep. Candidates left alone after arrival. We built DK Zuvis to do it differently and we publish our rules so that companies and candidates alike can check them.
Self-commitment
Seven promises
These rules apply to every project, every cohort, every person, no small print:
Candidates pay nothing. Ever.
No placement fees, no course fees as hidden placement costs, no 'service charges'. All costs are borne by the hiring company (employer-pays principle).
No debt relationships.
We conclude no loan or repayment agreements with candidates and do not work with anyone who does.
Transparent contracts in understandable language.
Candidates receive all contracts in German and French/English, with time to read and the explicit option to say no.
Fair termination rules.
Whoever leaves the path, before or after entry, owes us nothing. Drop-out risks are our entrepreneurial risk, not the candidates'.
Honest expectation management.
We promise no paradise, but a realistic chance: hard training, German winters, homesickness and a real perspective. Whoever withdraws after the preparation course has decided correctly.
Data protection for candidates.
Applicant data is only passed on with consent and only to concretely interested companies, no stockpiled databases, no profile trading.
Families are involved.
Before any commitment we talk to the families. A supported decision protects against drop-outs and against uprooting.
Honesty as a method
What we tell candidates and what we don't
Our integration courses in Cameroon include a module that surprises many: the downsides. Dark winters, bureaucracy, loneliness in the first weeks, a demanding work pace. Whoever continues afterwards does so informed and stays.
The same applies towards companies: we quote no success rates we cannot prove, and no timelines that depend on embassy appointments as if they were guaranteed. Honesty is not a marketing claim for us, it is the basis of our work.
Frame of reference
Standards we follow
ILO Fair Recruitment Initiative
We follow the International Labour Organization's employer-pays principle: recruitment costs are borne by the company, never by the candidates.
WHO Global Code of Practice & IOM IRIS
For the care sector the WHO code of practice on international recruitment applies; operationally we use the IOM IRIS standard for fair recruitment.
'Fair Recruitment Care Germany' seal
We are in the preparation process for this seal. Confirmed seals will be published here once granted. Until then our self-commitments are contractually binding, not merely an intention.
German training law
All placements run through the regular legal path of vocational training, no grey areas, no circumvention constructs.
Data protection for candidates
Applicant data is subject to the same GDPR standards as our clients' data: consent before any transfer, deletion after completion or termination of the process, no transmission to third parties outside the specific application process.
